Refreshing Blood Orange Drink Course: Drinks Cuisine: American Difficulty: Easy Ingredients 6 blood oranges cut in halves 6 lemons cut in halves 2 cup of water (for simple syrup) 2 cup of sugar (for simple syrup) 6 cups of water maybe more Directions Using an electric juicer or hand held juicer, juice oranges and lemons until all are juiced, no need to cut the skins off if using an electric juicer. Set aside. In a small sauce pan add 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water into the pot and boil until all sugar is dissolved, allow the simple syrup to cool and store into a glass jar. ( you can store this in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.) In a large pitcher, add juiced oranges and lemons add 6 cups of water and stir. Add more water if you need to. To sweeten, add simple syrup to your desired sweetness. Notes If using a handheld juicer, follow all the same steps. Simple syrup can be stored away in the fridge for 4 weeks.
