Copy Cat Zea’s Mediteranean Hummus Dip

In life, I believe there is a time when your body must reset. Whether it’s going vegan, juicing for a week straight, or adding a copious amount of fresh vegetables and herbs to your diet. It’s a natural necessary adjustment and my “Copy Cat” version of Zea’s famous Mediterranean Hummus Dip, is sure to get you snacking in a healthy and delicious direction.

Hummus have become a popular go-to snack and with so many ready- made versions available, they’re not hard to find in stores. My version of hummus takes an ordinary store-bought hummus and transforms it into restaurant quality hummus dip!

Who knew by adding fresh ingredients such as:

  • Roasted Garlic Cloves
  • Chopped Red Onion
  • Diced Tomato’s
  • Lemon Juice

Can be so sophisticated?!

hummus

In addition to all of that freshness feta cheese which is completely optional if you’re strictly vegan, adds a mouth-watering tang to the humus dip. And a heap of chopped green onions atop all those zesty ingredients makes for one great dip!

If you ever been to Zea’s Restaurant you know how delicious their Mediterranean hummus Dip is. And if you haven’t no worries, I got you covered with my version. Serve the dip with warm pita bread cut into triangles like the picture below.

hummus

You could opt for pita chips from a bag, but this is the original way of serving it up! And the warmth of the pita bread magnifies the delicious-ness of this fun appetizer and snack.

Now, I promise you this is easy as 1,2,3. And it is indeed.

I used a 10oz container of store bought original humus there are many different flavors of hummus. But for this hummus dip we will stick to the plain. Once all the fresh ingredients come together your palate will delight in all the sumptuous flavors. This is great dip to bring in for work pot luck, game day’s, or just hanging at home with family for movie night.

So, let’s go over the ingredients:

  • 10oz Plain Hummus
  • 1 Red Onion (only use 1/2 of it)
  • 1/4 cup of Diced Tomato’s (You can use canned)
  • 1 Tablespoon Of Feta Cheese (Optional if your going vegan)
  • 3-4 Cloves Of Roasted Garlic
  • 2 Green Onion Stalks sliced thin
  • 1 Teaspoon Of Fresh Lemon Juice
  • A Splash Of Olive Oil

Got it? Great! Let’s give this a go already ya’ll!

  • Bonita🍎Crumb. It’s apple season and there are so many apple orchards here in the the Big Apple you just gotta go further North to reach them. .

Today we visited Masker Orchards in Warwick NY, there’s 14 different varieties of apples grown here. And the Red Delicious were the sweetest I’ve ever tasted. The farms are such a great escape from the concrete jungle, and many New Yorker’s find there way further North to break away from the norm. I love NY for this season alone🍎🍏
